Night temperatures have dropped rapidly in many parts of the state. The minimum temperatures in Bhopal and Indore touched nearly 10 degrees Celsius, while in areas like Gwalior and Shahdol it was 7-8 degrees. The Meteorological Department has also warned that temperatures could drop further in the coming week. The sun may come out during the day, but its warmth cannot relieve people from the cold. In rural areas, people are trying to escape the cold by lighting bonfires.

Increased effect of the cold winds

impact of the icy winds from North India on the weather in MP is clearly visible. Especially in Gwalior-Chambal division and Bundelkhand areas, the cold winds have intensified the chill. According to experts, the night temperatures in these areas could drop further. Farmers are also worried about this cold as the risk of frost in the fields has increased. The Meteorological Department has advised farmers to take precautionary measures to protect their crops and irrigate the fields to reduce the impact of frost.

Situation for the coming days

According to the Meteorological Service, the cold may intensify over the next 4-5 days. Young children and elderly people in particular need to be especially careful at this time of year. Doctors point out that the cold may increase the number of colds and viral infections, so wear warm clothes and avoid cold things. There is also a possibility of light rains in some parts of Madhya Pradesh in the coming week, which could add to the chill. In such a situation, people in the state need to be vigilant.
