Weather Update: Due to the sunshine, Delhi is still feeling hot during the day, but a slight chill is also being felt in the morning and evening. According to the Weather Department (IMD), the sky will remain clear today (Sunday) and the temperature can remain up to 33 degrees Celsius.
Effect of Cyclone Dana
The weather of Bihar has changed before Diwali due to Cyclone ‘Dana’. Due to this storm, changes have also been seen in West Bengal and Odisha. Many areas of Bihar have been cloudy for two days and it is raining lightly. In particular, on Saturday the temperature dropped to 7 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rain in West Bengal and Odisha
According to the IMD, heavy rain has been predicted in the coastal areas of eastern India, especially in East Midnapore and South 24 Parganas of West Bengal, due to Cyclone Dana. It has been raining in Kolkata and other areas of South Bengal since Thursday night, but there is no news of major damage.
Light rain and school closure in Jharkhand
Light rain is also occurring in the Kolhan region of Jharkhand (such as West Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan and East Singhbhum) due to Cyclone Dana. IMD has issued an “Orange Alert” here, due to which schools here will remain closed on 25 October.
Alert for heavy rain in Kerala
IMD has issued an “Orange Alert” in many areas of Kerala due to cyclonic activity going on in the Arabian Sea. Heavy rain may occur in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad till 27 October. Moderate rain with lightning and strong winds can also be seen in other areas.
Weather of UP and Bihar
According to the weather department, the weather of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is still clear. At present, there are less chances of rain here. Sometimes sunshine and sometimes mild cold is felt. There may be light rain in Eastern UP and light hailstorms may occur in some areas on Sunday. The weather will remain dry in Western UP.
There are chances of light rain in Banda, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Ghazipur and Azamgarh. After 28 October, the weather is expected to remain clear in entire UP till Dhanteras and the sky will remain clear in both parts on 29, 30 and 31 October as well.
